BEWARE OF FAKE SOCIAL MEDIA ACCOUNTS IMPERSONATING THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL/CEO OF NBRRI
The Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) wishes to inform the general public that Engr. Prof. Samson Duna, Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of NBRRI, is currently being impersonated by unscrupulous individuals who have created fake social media accounts using his name, photographs, and personal identity.
These fraudulent accounts have been contacting members of the public, friends, colleagues, and associates, soliciting financial assistance and making false representations under the guise of the Director-General.
THE PUBLIC IS HEREBY ADVISED THAT:
– Prof. Samson Duna does not solicit money or financial assistance from individuals through social media or any unofficial platform.
– Any request for money, gifts, investment, or financial support purportedly coming from such accounts should be disregarded immediately.
– Members of the public are urged not to engage with or send money to anyone operating these fake accounts.
– Anyone who receives such messages is encouraged to report the account to the relevant social media platform and notify the appropriate security agencies.
The matter has been formally reported to the Nigeria Police Force for thorough investigation and prosecution of those behind the criminal act. Appropriate legal action is already underway.
NBRRI appreciates the continued support and cooperation of the public in combating cybercrime and protecting the integrity of the Institute and its leadership.
