{"id":8213,"date":"2019-07-08T11:29:44","date_gmt":"2019-07-08T11:29:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nbrri.gov.ng\/new\/?p=8213"},"modified":"2019-07-18T09:25:59","modified_gmt":"2019-07-18T09:25:59","slug":"nbrri-research-workshop-on-the-practical-application-of-geo-studio-engineering-software","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nbrri.gov.ng\/new\/nbrri-research-workshop-on-the-practical-application-of-geo-studio-engineering-software\/","title":{"rendered":"NBRRI RESEARCH WORKSHOP ON THE PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF GEO-STUDIO ENGINEERING SOFTWARE"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>NBRRI Research Department<\/strong> held a workshop on the practical application of Geo-Studio Engineering Software at <strong><em>NBRRI Seminar Room at Abuja office<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 \u00a0It was\u00a0 organised by NBRRI Research Department Abuja on Friday 5th July 2019.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The <em><strong>integrated Geo-Studio software suite<\/strong><\/em> is designed for the combination of multiple analysis using different products into a single modelling project. It can then use the results from one analysis as the starting conditions for another one.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">New analyses can be easily created by cloning an existing analysis and adjusting its properties. When you are ready to analyse the model, Geo-Studio solves the analysis in the appropriate order, taking advantage of parallel processing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">This unique and powerful feature greatly expands the types of problems it can analyse. This approach is used to model construction sequences, establish initial conditions, perform sensitivity analyses, model complex time sequences, or simply decompose a complex problem into a number of smaller, more manageable analyses.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The training focused on 3 of the Geo-studio programs: <\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">SLOPE\/W for slope stability modelling, <\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">SEEP\/W for seepage analysis\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">SIGMA \/ W for stress and deformation settlement modelling.\u00a0 <\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">These are the ones mostly relevant to civil, geotechnical and Geo-environmental engineering projects, and they are the ones uniquely tailored for NBRRI projects too.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column][\/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery type=&#8221;image_grid&#8221;
