{"id":8302,"date":"2019-07-16T10:20:53","date_gmt":"2019-07-16T10:20:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nbrri.gov.ng\/new\/?p=8302"},"modified":"2020-01-30T11:12:05","modified_gmt":"2020-01-30T11:12:05","slug":"vacancy-for-the-post-of-director-general-chief-executive-officer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nbrri.gov.ng\/new\/vacancy-for-the-post-of-director-general-chief-executive-officer\/","title":{"rendered":"Vacancy for the Post of Director General \/Chief Executive Officer"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wpb-content-wrapper\"><p>[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 18pt;\"><strong><em>FEDERAL MINISTRY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Federal Secretariat, Abuja<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Private Mail Bag 331, Abuja<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>INTERNAL\u00a0 AND\u00a0 EXTERNAL\u00a0 ADVERTISEMENT FOR THE POST OF DIRECTOR GENERAL\/CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Applications are invited from suitably qualified Nigerian to fill the <a href=\"https:\/\/jobcenternigeria.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Job post<\/a> of the Director-General\/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI), Abuja.\u00a0 The Institute has the national mandate for Research and Development in Building and Road Research.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><em>Conditions for Eligibility<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">To apply, a candidate must;<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">\u00a0 Possess at least a Ph.D in Science and at least 15 years demonstrable Research experience in Science and Technology with verifiable background in Building and Road including service as Director (Research) in a Research Institute or its equivalent.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Have had extensive relevant research experience as evidenced by at least 25 scientific publications in reputable local and international peer reviewed journals relevant to Building and Road Technology.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Have obtained his\/her first Degree\/Higher National Diploma from a recognized Institution.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Possession of experience in the Management of a Research Organization will be an added advantage.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Demonstrable evidence of computer literacy is mandatory.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Membership of local and international Professional bodies in the built environment as well as possession of patent rights in the Built Environment or related Sector will be an added advantage.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Applicants who would have attained 60 years of age by 31<sup>st<\/sup> December, 2019 need not apply.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The successful candidate appointed as the substantive Director-General\/CEO shall be responsible through the NBRRI Governing Board to the Federal Ministry of Science and Technology for the attainment of the mandate of the Institute.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">The tenure of the post is 4 years but renewable based on performance:<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Conditions of Service are as provided for Political, Public and Judicial Office Holders {Salaries and Allowances etc. (Amendment) Bill 2008} and applied to Federal Government Research Institute which may be modified from time to time by competent Federal Authorities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><em>Method of Application<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Interested and qualified applicants should submit soft copy (on re-writable CD) and fifteen (15) hard copies of their application;
