Proper accounting brings financial accuracy in any organization. The training of staff for effective delivery stands as the top priority of the Institute.
This was made known by the Ag. Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of NBRRI, Prof. Samson Duna at the opening ceremony of the 2-day workshop with the theme “Preparation of IPSAS Accrual Compliant Financial Statements” organized by the Institute for the staff of the Finance and Account Department of NBRRI on 14th September, 2020 at the Institute’s head office, Abuja.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Duna encouraged all participants to take the workshop serious and enjoined the resource persons drawn from the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation to render all necessary assistance to the participants, in other to grasp all the skills and required knowledge on accounting.
He also stated that the major problem faced in the Civil Service today in relation to staff output is lack of constant training for staff. Reiterating that “you cannot employ a staff without training him/her for effective performance”.
To curb this situation and to uplift the output quality of staff, the necessity for staff training should be one of the topmost priorities of any institution especially the Research Institutes. He concluded by encouraging all participants to positively garner experience from the workshop so as to add value to the society.
