The Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute is not relenting in her efforts in making sure that her staff are well trained in meeting up with global standards of work input and service delivery.
This was well displayed as the staff of Finance and Account Department of the Institute began a 2-day intensive workshop tagged “E-Accounting Software Training” on 29th September, 2020.
The workshop is the second phase of the 2-day seminar on “Preparation of IPSAS Accrual Compliant Financial Statements” by the department.
Declaring the workshop open, the Ag. Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the Institute, Prof. Samson Duna stressed on the needs and importance of staff training. He stated that it is important for staff to be trained regularly which will be:
  1.               An avenue to adding value to existing knowledge.
      ii.              Training those who were employed without previous training.

iii.           To eradicate mistakes that emanate from manual ways of data collections. This he explained is one of the major reasons for this E-Accounting Software Training.

    iv.             To equip staff in order to get the best from their day-to-day running.
In conclusion, he promised to make staff training his topmost priority in the Institute as he encouraged the participants to dedicate their time on the training and become productive afterwards.
In the same way, the Head of the Finance and Account Department, Mr. Ignatius Onwusiri appreciated the Ag. DG/CEO for his commitment towards the betterment of the Institute and productive output of staff. He also encouraged the participants to make good use of this opportunity to upgrade themselves.
