GOVERNOR MUHAMMAD INUWA YAHAYA COMMENDS DG NBRRI FOR HIS POSITIVE IMPACT ON INFRASTRUCTURE IN THE COUNTRY

The Director-General/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute (NBRRI) Engr. Prof. Samson Duna, accompanied by the North-East Zonal Coordinator of NBRRI Mr. Baba Yerima were on Friday 30th of December, 2023 at the office of the Executive Governor of Gombe State, His Excellency, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya on a courtesy visit to the governor. Prof. Duna who was well received by the Governor, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau and the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Prof. Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi appreciated the kind gesture and great hospitality the state has shown and still showing to NBRRI for housing the North-East Zonal Office of the institute in the state. Prof. Duna explained how appreciative the Staff of the institute working in the state are for the hospitality received from indigenes of the state. He then appealed to the governor not to relent in extending the dividends of democracy to every area of the state.
Just like the popular ‘Oliver Twist,’ Prof. Duna after commending the Governor for the approval of a permanent cite to build the NBRRI Zonal Office which construction is on-going, he appealed for an extension of the plots of land so as to accommodate more structure and have more impact of NBRRI in the zone and state in particular.
In appreciation to the visit, His. Excellency, Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya expressed satisfaction on the great achievements recorded so far by NBRRI in the country. He also applauded Prof. Duna for his great wisdom and contributions to humanity and stated that the state is deeply happy with Prof. Duna’s achievements as a son of the soil. Governor Yahaya encouraged him not to relent and that the sky shall be his limit and that as a son of Gombe, nothing shall thwart his efforts for progress.
Finally, the Governor gave an express approval for the land expansion of NBRRI’s permanent site in the state as he instructed Dr. Kabir Usman Hassan, the Director, Gombe Geographic Information System (GoGIS) to as a matter of urgency go and inspect the site and approve the expansion of the land.
